Palawan Motorbike Rental

Motorbike rental in Palawan

The Caex rental shop is alongside the road leading to Puerto Princesa from the airport.

The little scooters rent for 600 pesos per day but the managers will negotiate for longer term rentals.

The 200 Honda trail bike cost 1000 pesos per day.

There is local transport available to the many towns and villages in Palawan but having your own wheels gives you a bit more freedom to stop where you want etc.

The roads in Palawan tend to deteriorate the further you venture from town so if comfort is to be considered try to get a 200 if they have any available. 5 to 6 hours on the smaller scooters shake you apart.

I used one to go to a friends wedding on the south end of the island but most travelers will head north instead of south once they leave Puerto Princesa.

Fuel costs between 43 and 50 peso per liter. In some places it is sold in liter coke bottles but there are service stations in most of the towns.

It is always a good idea to lock the steering when you leave the bike. Theft does happen.

The rental shop wants you to leave your passport as security but I just gave them a photo copy.

This Palawan Motor bike rental shop is just past the Moana Hotel and is usually open from 8am till 6 or 7 pm. Their bikes are rented out on a first come first serve basis.

Getting around Palawan is a lot cheaper using public transport but using a bike gives you more flexibility.
